I hooked up my TV converter box but instead of gaining channels I lost some!? I used to have the normal channels like 6 ABC, CBS 3 and other out of Philly and reading, but now I only get CBS 3, channel 35, 51 and 61. What is wrong?

Answer: Make sure you have a uhf/vhf antenna. it's the antenna that has both the rabbit ears and that little dish between them that swivels around. They have been around forever, if you don't have one you can find them anywhere, even the thrift store. Rescan your converter box and see if that works too. Also, your antenna might be just too weak. With digital, if your antenna isn't strong enough, instead of showing you a blurry picture it just won't show you anything at all. Try buying a bigger antenna or moving it around your house someplace to find reception. Then you have to rescan again, unfortunately. Another problem... if you live really far away from your TV stations, unfortunately by federal mandate they have to broadcast digital at a certain strength. This means that when they go digital, their broadcast radius might be smaller! So if you are far away, the signal simply might no longer reach you anymore, really! You have to call your TV stations to find out for sure. OH, one more thing.... some TV stations are broadcasting a weak digital signal until June 12, because it is too expensive or problematic to broadcast both analog and digital at the same time. On June Th, many TV stations will increase their signal strength AFTER they turn off their analog signal. Try scanning again after noon on June Th, you might find the stations will start working again! If it still doesn't work... better buy a bigger antenna LOL
