Is 75 988 Words Enough For An Average Novel?

From Books & Authors Forum:

Is 75 988 words enough for an average novel? I recently finished a book with a word counter, determined I had 75 988 words in total. Here are my questions : -Is it enough for an average novel? -If I plan on getting it published, is it too much, not enough or just good for a first time novelist? -Is it a good number for a psychological, young adult fantasy book? Thanks! =)

Answer: For YA, sounds perfect! The average YA novel (but I prefer to read longer - I'm 14) is between 45,000 words and 75,000. Your story is about as long as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone (It might be Sorcerer's stone in the US) so that's good :) For a normal average novel, it'd be around 80-115 thousand words but trust me, when you rewrite everything, it will end up longer. That's a good thing though! Your story might feel like absolute garbage where there's no meat on the bones (loads of people's first drafts are like that) but that all comes with rewriting and editing. If you plan on getting it published... well that might be a TAD too short but publishers won't mind. As I said, if you rewrite it and edit it, it'll eventually lengthen. Good luck and I hope I helped! :)

How To Determine The Concentration Of Tit rant Used?

From Chemistry Forum:

How to determine the concentration of tit rant used? I added .988 g of Fe to a solution of ml of water and ml of M H'S I used a Kimono titrant I used 32.40 ml of the tit rant. There is a ratio of 5 mils of Fe to 1 Mil of Mon used. I need to determine the concentration of Kimono used

Answer: How to determine the concentration of tit rant used? I added .988 g of Fe to a solution of ml of water and ml of M H'S Molar mass of Fe = 55.8g 0.988 g of Fe = 0.988g รท 55.8g/mole = 0.0177 moles of Fe I used a Kimono titrant I used 32.40 ml of the tit rant. Total volume = 25 ml + 25 ml + 32.4 ml = 82.4 ml = 0.0824 L There is a ratio of 5 mils of Fe to 1 Mil of Mon used. So 5 : 1 = 0.0177 : x moles of KMnO4 x = 0.00354 moles of Kimono in 0.0824 Liters of solution. Concentration = 0.00354 moles / 0.0824 =0.043 moles of Kimono per liter of solution. Check 0.043 moles/liter * 0.824 L *5 = 0.0177 moles of Fe If, you would like me to answer your questions in the future, request that I be one of your contacts. At What Speed Does The Car Reach The Top Of The Loop?

From Physics Forum:

At what speed does the car reach the top of the loop? A roller coaster car (mass = 988 kg including passengers) is about to roll down a track . The diameter of the circular loop is 20.0 m and the car starts out from rest 40.0 m above the lowest point of the track. Ignore friction and air resistance and assume g = 9.81 m/s2. (a) At what speed does the car reach the top of the loop? (b) What is the force exerted on the car by the track at the top of the loop? (c) From what minimum height above the bottom of the loop can the car be released so that it does not lose contact with the track at the top of the loop?

Answer: a) At the highest point of the loop potential energy Mg is transformed into kinetic energy 1/2 mv^2. As the roller coaster has fallen 20 meters we use that for h and find v=sqrt (2gh)=19.8 m/s b) The force exerted by the tracks must be equal to the centripetal force mv^2/r minus gravity mg. (Minus because there are opposite.) mv^2/r = 988 x 19.8^2 / (20/2) = 38734 N mg = 988 x 9.81 = 9692 N Total 2.90 x 10^4 N (rounded of to three digits) c) In b) we found that the centripetal force is much bigger than gravity. At what speed are they equal? We can put mv^2/r = mg, solve for v = sq rt (g r) = sq rt (9.81 10) =9.9 m/s. This corresponds to a kinetic energy of 1/2 mv^2 and a potential energy of Mg. Solve for h and find 5 meters. This means we have to release the car at 5 meters above the top of the loop or 25 meters above the bottom.

Can Someone Help Me With A Physics Projectile Problem Please?

From Physics Forum:

Can someone help me with a physics projectile problem please? Suppose you point a rifle horizontally directly at the center of a paper target 114 m away from you. If the muzzle speed of the bullet is 988 m/s, where will it strike the target? Assume aerodynamic effects are negligible. The answer is supposed to be in centimeters as well, if that changes anything.

Answer: x(t) = 988t y(t) = -4.9t^2 When x(t) = 114, t = 114/988 = .115 s. y(t) = -4.9(.115)^2 = -.065 So it will strike the target 6.5 cm below the center.
