Where Can I Buy Glow In The Dark Paint?

From Do It Yourself (DIY) Forum:

Where can I buy glow in the dark paint? Anyone know where I can buy glow in the dark paint? I tried craft stores like Michael's and A.C. Moore but all they have is little containers of it. I'm looking for a spray can or a big container of it. Anyone?

Answer: Answer 1 has a valid thought. Home Depot perhaps as well. I also suggest theatrical supply houses. It isn't strictly a glow in the dark paint; as it doesn't generate its own light. The substance offers an effect similar to the glow in the dark stars people stick on walls and ceilings, but might ONLY "glow" in black light, or NOT glow at all unless a light is shined on the paint. It might be difficult to find PAINT that absorbs light then slowly fades once the light source is removed. AN Added thought. Get a bottle of what is offered and connect with that manufacturer.

What Should I Do For My Ancient Greek Architecture Project?

From Other - Arts & Humanities Forum:

What should I do for my Ancient Greek Architecture project? I'm doing Greek Architecture for a project. I need help doing the columns. Like what should I buy? Should I go out to A.C. Moore and get foam and carve the Ionic order in and the Doric order in or what? Any ideas? I could really use them!

Answer: A tough one. The fluted columns should be enough of a headache. And the capital on the Ionic just add to the pain. If you aren't going to do the flutes, then keep everything easy. Architecture is about defining usable space. A model can over look some details. Oh I just thought. Is your project just columns? I hope not. If it is then print examples of those columns in detail. Use a model with plain pegs to define the space. Sorry not much help.

Can A Candle Flame Burn Glass?

From Decorating & Remodeling Forum:

Can a candle flame burn glass? OK so I made a large beer bottle into a candle holder, it looks pretty cool. but i'm afraid if I light the candle will the bottle get hot and crack from the heat or something. and will it be dangerous? and its not a large candle its a small candle like the ones you find at a.c. Moore.

Answer: Well, way back when, wine bottles were used as candle holders without any problem. So, I do not see why not. I wouldn't let the candle get too low to the glass. The wax could melt along the sides, then you could change the color of the candle and let it accumulate on top of what was there. Then repeat. You will then have a build up of different colors. I haven't seen these in a while, but they used to be very popular with "Mateus" bottles in Italian restaurants. Inexpensive way to carry a theme. But, candle can break a glass. I just had a votive candle which I placed a candle into and the wick had shifted towards the edge of the glass, heating it and then, POP! I couldn't figure out what it was. I then checked the candle and saw the wick tilted. I think my shelf was a little uneven. And , I think my glass on that holder was too thin. Plus I stupidly put in a fatter candle instead of the smaller ones in the foil. So, you learn something everyday. And, I am a very cautious candle burner. My eyes never leave them. But in your case, I think you will be perfectly fine. Candles always need to be watched. Where Can I Buy Colored Sand In Northern Virginia?

From Hobbies & Crafts Forum:

Where can I buy colored sand in Northern Virginia? I need small amounts of color sands. I need mostly dark colors. I checked in Michael's Art and Craft store. They just have three to four colors. I checked in A.C.Moore and they do not have colored sands. Where do I find colored sands?

Answer: Many years ago I owned a ceramic shop. We made our own because I figured I could do it cheaper. It worked out pretty good, actually. I purchased silica sand at my local lumberyard. Maybe the hobby shops have it. Maybe you can find a supplier on the net. Take acrylic paint, we used Duncan at the time. Mix into the sand really well, couple drops at a time till you like the color, spread out on cookie sheet, or something the paint won't adhere to like paper. Let it dry real well. We usually mixed one morning, next morning we came in it was dry. Get a fine mesh wire strainer, I used a spatter (splatter) screen for a skillet. Put your sand on the screen and use your hand to work it through the screen. Wall-la, colored sand the color you want. Remember it will lighten up a little when it's dry.

Is It Better To Get Henna From A Tattoo Store Or Just A Normal Store?

From Tattoos Forum:

Is it better to get henna from a tattoo store or just a normal store? I want to get a henna tattoo to see how I like it, but i'm just wondering if henna that is put on by a tattoo artist will look better or if it's the same no matter where I buy it like A.C Moore.

Answer: I've only gotten henna tattoos at the beach, but I have seen DOY kits in a couple of stores. If you want to get one to see how you like it because you're thinking of getting a permanent one later on, then I would say go to a tattoo shop, OS the quality will be somewhat similar. If you just want to fool around with them for fun or to see how they look on you or for diff. occasions, etc then I would say it's not necessary going to a professional

How To Get Crazy Glue Out Of Plastic?

From Hobbies & Crafts Forum:

How to get crazy glue out of plastic? Me and my cousin were playing around right and she kick me in the face and my glasses flew out. One of the handle broke, so I went to A.C Moore and got crazy glue. When I got crazy glue, I glue the handle back to my plastic glasses and it keeps on breaking. There is a pile of glue stuck on my glasses and I look re tarted with a missing handle. Is there anyway to get crazy glue off?

Answer: Super glue is brittle and will keep breaking. You could try pinning it, drill a small hole in each side of the break, glue a piece of wire in that will in turn glue into the hole on the other piece. I would suggest doing this, but use a 5-minute, 2-part epoxy that will hold better. It may not last long though, with normal use. Se if you can order just one replacement stem for your glasses.
