Answer: Avoid Behring er like the plague. The build quality is terrible, as well as the component quality. Soundcraft, a well respected audio company, recently released a small mixer. It is called the Sound craft Notepad 102, and it has two of the GB preamp that are in use in their bigger consoles that are used for many live productions across the world. I use one of those bigger ones for my location recording business, and the preamp are very nice. The Notepad will run you about $100. For $150, Ale sis makes a small format mixer that has a SUB interface built in. It is called the Multics 8 SUB FAX. Ale sis preamp aren't as good as Soundcraft's, but the inboard effects of the Ale sis unit might appeal to you. Either one would work for you.

The bottom LR has 3 tips (numbered 1,2,3) and there is a blue and red wire. I think there may be a ground as well on the screw that held the base together.
