Answer: Unless you know someone who can illegally configure your satellite in order to pick up the Disney channel from the States, there's no way you can get it in Canada. It has to do with the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission : "The CR TC regulates all Canadian broadcasting and telecommunications activities and enforces rules it creates to carry out the policies assigned to it; the best-known of these is probably the Canadian content rules." "Canadian content (abbreviated can con or can-con) refers to the requirements that radio and television broadcasters (including cable/satellite specialty channels) must air a certain percentage of content that was at least partly written, produced, presented, or otherwise contributed to by persons from Canada." So basically because probably 100% of the content of shows on the Disney channel is created by Americans, it is filtered as the Family Channel in Canada. It's kinda of won key because there are other channels (like HBO) which have a high percent of American content but are still available here. I think a lot of it has to do with politics and cash. Answer: the agent thing..umm you dint pay any money for your agent until you land a job or a gig....dont fall for any of that stuff like john Roberts powers and stuff like that.,.their fake...two summers ago I filmed an independent film in LA and I didn't get paid for it so there for my agent didn't get paid we only got publicity for it. and to get on the disenchant....they cast like in LA and canada(i think this cause that is whee a majority of their shows are flimed)..which is no whee near whee you live. You can send in you or head shot and resume' (sp) to casting agents out in LA and or new york (cause that is closer) and you can also state that you would like to do some kid programs on the Disney channel thats all I can think of for now
