May I Ask Another?

From Law & Ethics Forum:

May I ask another? question? I just recently heard the news about the gay marriage law in California and I'm curious as to why Arnold S. let that law pass. I thought he was against it, so why is he supporting it now; I distinctly remember him vetoing a gay marriage law, so what's his deal? What changed his mind? I, personally have nothing against gay marriage; if two people love each other regardless of their sex, they should have the right to get married. However, I just wanted to know what changed Arnold's mind.

Answer: I actually think that it wasn't Arnold's decision, but the voter's choices, that determined it. I am pretty sure it was on the latest ballot, and that the voters allowed it to pass. I don't know if Arnold is still against it or not, but either way, it's been passed, and I am POSITIVE that the Catholic bishops were furious. xP

If Marriage Is Between A Man And A Woman, Does That Mean There Should Be Raids On Polygamous Towns In Utah?

From Law & Ethics Forum:

If marriage is between a man and a woman, does that mean there should be raids on polygamous towns in Utah? re: the 40 million dollar bankroll of anti gay marriage law in California. The leadership of the Mormon church made a big, big mistake on this one. After all not only are they open to the charge of rank hypocrisy given their history of being persecuted over their ideas about marriage, but also it means that all those little towns where people are living in polygamous marriage ILLEGALLY are open to attack again. Everyone knows about these towns but there has been a "don't ask, don't tell" policy among the leadership of the church in Utah. I am talking between consenting adults and not the screwy old guy/young girl cult stuff. DIDN'T ANYONE THINK THIS ONE OUT??? Also, the vote on making gay marriage a CIVIL contract was close and many people have been alerted to the role of ( untaxed) mega million dollar religious hierarchies in politics. Rules of PA Cs should apply equally to these guys.

Answer: Here's the thing. I live in Utah, I'm not Mormon. The polygamists disgust me, and I would love to throw every single one of them in jail. HOWEVER....it's near impossible to do. Those men have one legal wife, (their first wife) All the others are "spiritual" wives, they are not legally binding. So basically, all they're really guilty of doing is committing adultery. It's SO hard to prove polygamy, let alone prosecute it. Not everyone in Utah is against gay marriage, and there are openly gay people living here. It's just the right-winged Mormon governing body.

Homophobia- Could He Be Gay?

From Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered Forum:

Homophobia- Could he be gay? Okay, so this boy in my Marketing class, Jimmy, has made several homophobic remarks during my class. Being gay, I do feel offended by the things that he's saying. his latest remark happened when we were doing "Current events." I said that there was a lesbian couple who was kicked out of a family restaurant near the area where I live. After I said this, Jimmy's remark was a simple: "Good." Just loud enough for me and those around him were able to hear it. One of Jimmy's worst remarks was during "White ribbon day." At my school, we have a GSA club. During the voting to try and pass the gay marriage law in California, members of my school wore white ribbons to support marriage equality. At the end of class when the teacher was in the hallway, Jimmy yelled out, "I hate f**s" The entire class was silent until the bell rang and my friend Hillary and I reported him. I also reported him during his other incident. I'm not sure how bad hate speech can get, but Jimmy seems to be doing anything that he can to get the attention from other students so that they are well aware that he's homophobic. He's an odd boy though... I don't want to jump to conclusions just because of his feminine appeal, but I have wondered many times if he might be doing this because he himself is gay and is doing anything that he can to hide it. Do you think that he can be trying to 'act' straight so that no one thinks and or finds out that he might be gay himself? It's not that I automatically think that he's gay. It's that I've wondered if he was gay seance long before any of this even happened. I'm just wondering if he might be hiding something because I've never seen homophobia go this far before, especially in a classroom. You understand what I'm saying, right?

Answer: Well there is evidence that those who have the biggest problems with homosexuals are the ones that have issues with their own sexuality. Men who are comfortable in their own skin and have no issues with their sexuality, don't have a problem with gay men. So yeah, it's possible that he is only being homophobia to hid the AFC that he himself could be gay.

What Would Happen If Gay Marriage Became Legal In All States...?

From Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered Forum:

What would happen if gay marriage became legal in ALL states...? What do you think would happen? Would most Catholics go ballistic? I'm for gay marriage <3

Answer: Extremist Christians would probably band together and attempt to reverse the decision. See what happened to the gay marriage law in California for a good example. Extremist Christians would also probably gather around the courthouses where marriage certificates are given out with picket signs against it.
