His annual budget proposal is about $220 BILLION MORE PER YEAR THAN WHAT BUSH SPENDS. There's simply no way to spend that kind of money, cut taxes for the majority of Americans and NOT go bankrupt. 7. Even if he does manage some small tax cuts for a small portion of Americans he will make good on his promise to significantly raise taxes on business and capital gains. The business tax increases will cause: a) many businesses to fail (unemployment goes up) b) some businesses to move overseas (more unemployment) c) all remaining businesses will raise their prices to consumers (ie: less money in your pocket). Just as an aside, contrary to popular liberal myths, taxes on the wealthy were higher under Bush than under Clinton, and taxes for the middle class are lower under Bush than they were under Clinton. I think that would be plenty for most intelligent Americans, so I'll leave it at that. Think before you vote, people! Oh, and to those of you ignorant folks who keep saying stupid things about blaming Bush for the current state of the economy; you should do some actual research. I don't actually think Bush is a great President, and I didn't vote for him either time, but Nancy Pols and the Democratically controlled houses of Congress are 99% to blame for the downturn in the economy, the out of control spending and the price of gas. Answer: I hate to say this but now that an African-American President has been elected, liberal America is going to realize that the African-American Community (generally speaking) is more in line with the GOP when it comes to social values. They aren't the "tolerant" and "accepting" group that one would expect after experiencing discrimination first hand for so many years. That said, I don't think ABM is against gay marriage at the personal level. Most intelligent, educated people realize that it's unjust to be opposed to gay marriage. ABM is giving Warren a microphone to try to appear that he's bi-partisan, and will represent some of the views of the Christian Right. In my heart of hearts, I think ABM supports gay marriage and knows that it's unjust to deny gays rights. But, he knows that if he public ally supported gay marriage, he'd lose support from the ignorant masses.

Why are the biggest critics of ABM the same people who voted for him? I voted for John McCain, but have been pleasantly surprised by Obama's choices for his cabinet. Almost all of the criticism of him I am hearing from friends and coworkers are those who voted for him, not for McCain. A few are calling him a traitor and some are saying he has sold out to the more moderate wing of the party. I just wonder if you are one of those who voted for him but have been disappointed by his choices for cabinet and the minister he is using for his inauguration.

Answer: I live near a large university and I hear grumblings from the far left who thought ABM would be a champion for them. So far, he has chosen moderates to fill his cabinet and the choice of Rick Warren makes some of them mad because he opposes abortion and gay marriage. ABM promised to govern from the center and include conservatives and Republicans in his administration. I supported Hillary but have been pleased with his appointments so far. It's mostly the hard left who are angry with him. They obviously did not listen to his promises in the campaign.
