How Much To Get Some Links Removed At H Samuels? From Fashion & Accessories Forum:
How much to get some links removed at h samuels? I have got this really expensive bracelet recently new and 1 of the links has broken but it was to big anyway so I need a few links removed. I was just wondering would H Samuel's the jewellers be able to remove some links so that the bracelet is fixed?? Also how much would this cost roughly from there?? If you don't know, how much would it roughly cost to get this done in any jewellers? Thanks x
Answer: I had a gold bracelet and it was to big for me so I went back in the shop a few months later and asked for a few links to be taken off, which they done for free because the bracelet didn't need to be sent away, the jewelers do it there. Hope I helped =]
When You Buy A Metal Strap Watch On line, How Do You Know If It Will Fit You?From Fashion & Accessories Forum:
When you buy a metal strap watch on line, How do you know if it will fit you? I plan on buying a Second watch from H. Samuel jewellers with a clip fastening. Will I have to remove some of the links myself?
Answer: Typically, you can take the watch to most watch repair shops (the kind you find in a mall, for example - the ones that change watch batteries etc) or to any jewelry store and they will be able to remove the links fairly easily (usually costs about $5-$10 -- some jewelry stores will even do it for free). You can always try taking the links out yourself, but you run the risk of damaging the strap or the watch. However, if you feel confident enough, there is no reason to try. Good luck!

Consumer Problem: What Are My Rights When Returning A Faulty Watch? From Law & Ethics Forum:
Consumer Problem: What are my rights when returning a faulty watch? I have purchased a watch from H Samuel in early May. Recently the watch has broken. As their customer, what are my rights? As the item is faulty am I immediately entitled to my money back (by law) or do I have to give them the chance to repair it? I have everything that came with the watch including my receipt.
Answer: The Consumer Act 1982 provides that items should be of satisfactory quality which basically means they should last a reasonable amount of time and that would really depend on how much you paid for it. But before you enquire as to your legal rights.....first step is always to approach the trader and ask what he is prepared to do to resolve it If his suggestion is not to your satisfaction...write to the head office and go from there.

How Do I Go About A Ring Valuation? From Other - Business & Finance Forum:
How do I go about a ring valuation? I have been given a ring that has been passed down the family. It is supposedly a diamond and opal ring... how do I go about getting it valued? Should I take it to H SAMUEL'S and leave it there? How much does it usually cost, etc? What would I ask for also? Thank you for any help you can give.
Answer: Take it to any jeweller, preferably not a large chain like H Samuel, and ask for a valuation for insurance purposes. There should be no need to leave it, and if the "boss" isn't in and an assistant asks you to leave it I would suggest that you ask what will be a convenient time to call again. Before you go I would weigh the ring and take a couple of photos of the ring for your own records. A small charge might be made for the valuation but it should be a nominal figure and not the $50 that I have seen quoted already. I would suggest that $5 or £5 might be more reasonable. An alternative option might be to take it to a local antique auction house. Tell them that you have just inherited it and might be interested in putting it in the auction but am not sure what it might be worth and ask if the y give valuations in these circumstances. You will probably find they will give you a figure there and then without any charge. Then tell them you will need to discuss that with your brother or sister, whichever you feel comfy with. Remember that an auction price is not the same as an insurance valuation. The latter will be higher as that is the cost to you of buying a replacement at retail price.
