What Is The Difference Between Ascendant And Moon In Horoscopes?
From Horoscopes Forum:What is the difference between ascendant and moon in horoscopes? What is the difference between ascendant and moon in horoscopes? What does the moon affect? How can you accurately find your ascendant? How much influence does the moon have in the sun sign? I got curious because Every site I visit to find my ascendant says something different
Answer: "What is the difference between ascendant and moon in horoscopes?" The Ascendant, or Rising Sign, is the first impression you give off to others when they first meet you for the couple of times, it's sort of like the vibe you give off. It's what people think about you before they REALLY get to know you. It is like the protector of your Birth Chart, it protects who you really are so that no one will know unless you want them too, or they take the time to get to know you. You can keep this up as long as you want. But besides the obvious things it is known for, it also represents part of your personality and how you react to people, situations, etc. . . and helps you reach your highest potential. The sign on the cusp of the ST House (Ascendant) has the most influence, then the planets in the ST House and/or conjunct the Ascendant modifies the Sign on the cusp of it. For Example: Having the Ascendant in Gemini would usually mean someone who is intelligent and who talks a lot, however, adding Saturn (Planet of Restriction) to the ST House or Conjunct the Ascendant, will tone the talkative side of Gemini down. It also rules the Chart Ruler which is important when it comes to the Aspects it makes to other Planets and the House Placement as well. For Example: If you have Ascendant in Cancer, the Moon will be your Chart Ruler so you would have to pay attention to the Moon and the Placement and Aspects is makes to others Planets. "What does the moon affect?" The Moon is your Emotional needs and how you react to things. It tells you how you handle your Emotions, are you the type to get angry over the small things like and Aries Moon but are ambitious? Or are you more the reserved Scorpio Moon who keeps everything bottled up until you explode? It also represents your relationship with your Mother (So I've heard) and how you and her get along. Some people claim that their Moon Sign has more influence then their Sun Sign, especially if their Moon Sign is in a Water Sign (Pisces, Cancer, or Scorpio) or if they are still in their first half of their life (30 Years Old or Younger). This is what the Moon represents. "How can you accurately find your ascendant?" You will need your accurate time of birth and place you were born in order to know this. EdiT: "How much influence does the moon have in the sun sign?" I don't quite understand the question but if you mean HOW the Moon influences the Sun, well here it goes. The Sun is your Ego, it's who you are as an individual and your willpower. The Moon influences the Sun Sign by whatever signs these two are in or if they aspect each other. In general, the Sun and it's placement(s) and aspect(s) have the most influence over you, then the Moon comes next. The Moon can have more influence if it has more aspects and is in a better placement than the Sun. For example: A Sun in Leo, which is the best placement for the Sun as it produces a very confident and ambitious person, can be modified by a Moon In Capricorn, which is a quiet emotional person yet ambitious. Basically, the person would be a confident yet quiet and ambitious person. I don't know how else to answer this question besides the way I did. I'm not an Astrologer, I just know a few things.

How Does Relationship Compatibility Compare When Using Horoscopes Versus Chinese Horoscopes?
From Horoscopes Forum:How does relationship compatibility compare when using Horoscopes versus Chinese Horoscopes? I don't really believe in horoscopes and was wondering if there was similarities or if the relationship compatibility in these two types of horoscopes would be very different. It would be neat cool to see if these two systems corresponded to each other or if they were completely opposites in terms of saying who is compatible with who.
Answer: OK so, I wondered the same thing. lol! actually as far as relationship stuff goes, and hora scopes in general, I like the Chinese ones better. to me they capture my personality better, while the other ones dint as well. while normal horoscope goes by month, and Chinese by year, its different. they could technically conflict. I mean, they can be perfect for each other in the regular horoscopes, but then in the Chinese one not be the right year to be a perfect match. hash its funny. but for me the Chinese one is dead on for me. Lil. ^^
Have There Been Any Attempts To Cast Horoscopes From The Prov Of Different Planets?
From Horoscopes Forum:Have there been any attempts to cast horoscopes from the PROV of different planets? So, for example, are there Martian horoscopes in which Earth, Phobos and Deimos appear as significant phenomena, as if seen from the surface of Mars? I've noticed that certain astronomers associated with Mars tend to share birthdays in the Martian year but not the Earth year, and I wonder if anyone has ever looked into this.
Answer: you would have to be born on Mars to have a Martian horoscope. but I found your question interesting as I do know - (and you are probably aware) that horoscopes are cast for countries as well as for people. i remember reading a horoscope magazine (25 years ago) that had a map of the world with all the sun signs of each country (the symbol was marked on each country). I think it is was a bit arbitrary how they worked it out though. anyway this is what I can remember (sadly I have lost the magazine - dammit) : Britain was declared to be Aries (ruled by Mars) which sounds spot on to me. Germany was declared to be Aries also - which doesn't so spot on. but each country has it's own ascendant sign too, so that affects it strongly too. Central American countries were nearly all Scorpio - again - (some were Virgo) I think that was spot on too. Australia was declared Capricorn with Sagittarius rising (sounds spot on to me) and the magazine explained that this was based on Australia's Federation date.
Where Can I Check All My Horoscopes At Once?
From Horoscopes Forum:Where can I check all my horoscopes at once? I found a website a few days ago that was remarkably detailed in every which way. It allowed me to enter my birthday and it displayed a full list of horoscopes breaking down the differences between waxing and waning moon and also my zodiac. In addition, the site provided a simple break down as to whether it would be - for lack of better terminology - a "good" day or a "bad" day.
Answer: http://www.astro.com there are a number of ways of checking your chart there, however I'll give you three to start: 1) an "automatic" charting, when visiting http://www.astro.com Click "Free Horoscopes," (in the dark blue area), then on the left column where it says "Personal Portrait" -- that will give you the breakdown in text version, then 2) on the right column, Click "Chart drawing, Ascendant" -- this is your graphic birth chart (the wheel) 3) go to "Forum" (upper dark blue), post your graphic chart and get a personal reading from the forum's members (from all over the world, WONDERFUL source!). http://www.astro.com is BY FAR the best, very interactive, easy to use! There are LOADS of options there; relationship comparisons, etc. Hope you choose me, I *know* I've steered you the right direction! Good Luck! :) Be well...
Why Do Astrologers Promote Deceptive Behavior In Horoscopes?
From Horoscopes Forum:Why do astrologers promote deceptive behavior in horoscopes? I know most horoscopes are nonsense, but I notice that the most accurate astrologers would forecast something like, "You itching to break free of this relationship. What's stopping you? Nothing! So do it!" Their opinions are scary.
Answer: You are correct. Their opinions are scary. And they can also be deceptive as your say. And really the "most accurate" astrologers are really doing a dis-service to others with their generic, out-there, and broad horoscopes. Because astrology is fixated on one person. Not the millions of people "fitting" into the 12 sign of the zodiac. It has to be very broad and (hopeful?) as those astrologers know they are not giving a true interpretation of every person with that sun sign. It is going to fail. It is what gives astrology a "bad name." An astrologer cannot make broad sweeping generalizations to millions of people and believe that he/she is "hitting the nail on the head." Hence, horoscopes are in the Entertainment Section. Astrology is not supposed to be entertainment. It is supposed to be enlightening. Now there are funny astrologers out there I am sure, but........they are few and far between. Astrology is a serious study. With a "hidden" side effect of watching others during a Full Moon, as that is how I have learned much of what I know. Watching others "freak out" during that Full Moon as it "hits" a hot spot in their natal chart. Now, that can be funny! LOL Just remember that these astrologers have probably paid their "dues" as we all have to in order to find success. And those "Generic Horoscopes" are their paycheck. Nothing more. Nothing less. And occasionally they do hit the nail on the head. Very occasionally. Hence, the reason people still read the daily horoscope. It is fun! Entertaining! But almost always Not True! Good question. Glad you questioned these daily horoscopes as I wish all understood them for "what they really are." A paycheck! Good luck and bless you too.
Horoscopes: Can I Finally Expect Something Good To Happen?
From Horoscopes Forum:Horoscopes: Can I finally expect something good to happen? I dabble with horoscopes occasionally because sometimes they are too true. But I want to know if I can expect something good? I really haven't had anything much to be cheerful about since February... I am Taurus, born on Th April if that helps. Please answer, thanks people!
Answer: hey...hi same as you I like reading horoscope ,and sometimes I really feel that its true and all happens to me according to what I read but sometimes not. but weather this is all about horoscope things or not we can always expect something good to happen. we don't know what will happen tomorrow or the following day it is always been mysterious but we can always expect for something good, I believe the badness and goodness of what happening is not about what happens , its about how you handle things and react to it when it happens. for an instance you plan to go shopping and it rained you were not expecting it and it happened so it wont be good for you but on the other side of the world there would be people who are expecting for the same rain and needed it for their drained land so its something good for them, sometimes what we think good for us is not really what is good for us and what we think not is the one that should be for us. so always just expect for something good and do something to make it happen you cannot expect any result from nothing, there should be some move that will cause the result that we expect.
Why Are Horoscopes Considered Legitimate After All This Time?
From Horoscopes Forum:Why are horoscopes considered legitimate after all this time? Let's look at this objectively. In horoscopes the personality of a person can be determined by the positions of giant spheres of gas millions of light years away. How is this still a legitimate theory? I mean, come on. If anyone believes this then they're also saying that your personality is set from when you're born. In that case is DNA just a hunk of wasted space? And do serial killers have a specific star sign? I don't get how anyone in their right mind can put any stock in this nonsense.
Answer: It's not. Anyone that claims it's legitimacy suffers from delusion. There has yet to be any shred of credible evidence behind every single claim that astrology has made. The continuing fallacy, that planets and stars determine and influence human behavior is just a magical theory that has yet to be pr oven with any real evidence. Correlation does not imply causation - that's basically all horoscopes and astrology seem to offer. Astrologers like to ignore facts. That's all it is.
Should We Actually Be Reading The Horoscopes For Our Ascendant?
From Horoscopes Forum:Should we actually be reading the horoscopes for our ascendant? So, I'm only recently beginning to understand how horoscopes are cast for the sun sign horoscopes that most of us follow. The sun is placed at the ascendant, and then they look at the sign placements of the planets, and the houses where they would be located on that chart. With this logic, shouldn't we be looking at the horoscopes for our ascendant, which would probably be closer to our own houses?
Answer: i'm a Taurus, born April Th. I truly believe that I am an Aries though lol i found out about getting your chart done and come to find out I have my Venus, mercury and ascendant all in Aries. thus, I think like an Aries, act like an Aries in love, and come off as an Aries upon first meeting a person. so whenever I read my horoscope I read Aries and Taurus. some days, the Taurus one is true and others the Aries one is true. i would say read both.
Does Believing In Horoscopes Qualify As A Sin In The Roman Catholic Religion?
From Religion & Spirituality Forum:Does believing in horoscopes qualify as a sin in the Roman Catholic Religion? If I were to believe in horoscopes does that mean that I am defying God? Or is it simply another tool of conveying God's message?
Answer: By believing in horoscopes, you run the risk Divination. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches: 2116 All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to "unveil" the future. Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone. 2138 Superstition is a departure from the worship that we give to the true God. It is manifested in idolatry, as well as in various forms of divination and magic. 2117 All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one's service and have a supernatural power over others - even if this were for the sake of restoring their health - are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spirit ism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another's credulity.
