What Will Happen If I Dint Pay Hasbro Credit Card Bills(In Bangalore, India) And Move To Different Country? From Credit Forum:
what will happen if I dint pay HS BC credit card bills(in Bangalore, India) and move to different country? what will happen if I dint pay HS BC credit card bills(in Bangalore, India) and move to different country?
Answer: Oh gee, another debt collector coming around telling people to pay up! If you move to another country, you will have pretty effectively saved yourself from this debt. Sure, they MIGHT be able to track you down and harass you for it, but that's about all they can do. To even have a CHANCE to collect, they'd have to get a judgement against you in India and find some way to domesticate it your current country, which may be impossible entirely! Funny that the debt collector never mentioned that, eh?
My Approved Hasbro Credit Card Is Not Yet Delivered To Me?From Credit Forum:
my approved Hasbro credit card is not yet delivered to me? I have applied for a Hasbro credit card last Dec.2008 but until now it is not yet delivered, I called hsbc's hot line several times but they keep on saying that its the courier problem, what happens to my card? is there a possibility that it will be stolen? what would I do about it?
Answer: If you suspect your credit card has been stolen, then check your credit report. Credit cards can take a while to arrive. Typically, to save money on postage, they are sent out in batches to different areas. So, they wait until they have enough cards in your area to send your's. (Many times you'll see, "Allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.) Also, remember that December has a lot of holiday days. So there will be little activity during that time. Typically, credit card companies offer a premium service for faster delivery. Next time, if you need the card quickly, use the premium service.
Is There Anything You Can Do If A Credit Card Raised Your Apr For No Reason? From Credit Forum:
Is there anything you can do if a credit card raised your APR for NO reason? I lost my job about a year a go and am struggling with all the bills especially since we had twins couple of months before I lost my job. Just found out that HS BC credit card raised my APR for no reason --blaming the economy --. Is there anything I can do other than closing that account? There was a rumor about ABM trying to do something about a BS like this? Thanks.
Answer: The BS is coming in effect in February.... so all the credit card companies are scrambling to increase their rates one more time before it gets "complicated" for them to do so. There is nothing you can do to stop it. Don't close the account. All that will do is remove the available line of credit from your credit report and your score will drop because you have less available credit. Instead: Stop using the Card.... make an honest effort to pay down the balance faster (that means at least twice the minimum payment due). Once the account is at Zero balance: Use it for $20 a month and pay off in full when the bill comes. This will cost you Zero in interest charges, really teach the credit card company a lesson and when they offer to increase your limit: Point their noses to the fact that you do this $20 a month charge because their interest rates are too high to let a balance revolve to the next billing cycle. Only if we, the consumer, get smarter and don't play the game.... will the credit card companies realize that at 29.99% APR nobody is carrying a balance. BECAUSE WE ARE TOO SMART for them. Join the "Smart Club" and pay off the credit cards now. Then we have a weapon against them. It is called paying the bill in full every month. They call this kind of customer a "deadbeat"... wonder why...

What Can A UK Collection Agency Legally Do To Me In Canada? From Credit Forum:
What can a UK collection agency legally do to me in Canada? Background: My wife and I moved back to Canada after living in the UK for three years in Sept '05. We still had some debt owing on our HS BC credit cards, but left a balance in our accounts to cover minimum payments until we were able to secure a loan to pay them off. Well, my wife's account ran out of money before we could get a loan, and without any notification HS BC shut the credit card account and turned it over to a collection agency, named Wes cot Credit Services. I have called and spoken with them, only to be bullied and threatened with legal action if we didn't repay the entire balance immediately. My question is: what legal action can they take if I'm in Canada? I've read that our Canadian credit rating won't be affected, but can they send agents beating down our door? thanks for the responses.
Answer: I know one person who left the UK owing various companies money. One of them found out she was in Florida and they sold the debt to a Florida Debt Recovery Agency and they contacted her giving her 30 days to pay the entire amount or face legal action. This may be a possibility that could happen to you
