Why does my lime wire sometimes work and other times decide it's not connected? Sometimes lime wire works perfectly. However at other times I get the good old "limewire is currently connecting to the network." I don't change anything to cause this, my settings are all exactly the same. It seems to me that it works when if feels like it and then randomly doesn't work at other times with no logical explanation!

Answer: You should not be using Lime wire to download any sort of files, music or video. Firstly, downloading from Lime wire is illegal. Secondly, files from Lime wire usually come with loads of viruses and spy ware which is not good for your computer. So, get rid of Lime wire altogether and find another site to download stuff from.

Answer: You can continue to download music from Lime wire. I've been using Lime wire for years. I've also downloaded a song or two from tunes. tunes is connected to a database of music, therefore, nothing on your computer will be scanned by tunes (except for your music collection within tunes for the genius feature). And the genius scans the music via band name, genre..etc..it's not actually scanning to see if your music is legal or not. Besides, it would be illegal for anyone to access your computer without your permission. The stories you're hearing about people getting sued happened back in the days of Napster (before it was reopened after legal issues) and people on Lime wire who get caught are those who spend hours or even days at a time connected to Lime wire downloading hundreds of songs at a time. If you're connected for a few hours at a time at max then you'll be just fine. I have a friend who's always connected to Lime wire when I see him on his computer and he's never had issues.

I am sure that the lime wire directory is still stored on your computer somewhere. You should try to run a search of your hard drive for either lime wire or shared and see what will pop up. That folder might still exist on your hard drive even though lime wire is installed, but I am not 100 percent sure There could've been an option during the installation process that would've allowed you to wipe out the sub directory. The songs might already be removed from your hard drive if the search doesn't come up with anything.
