What Is Required To Achieve The Highest Q In A Resonant LC Circuit?
From Engineering Forum:What is required to achieve the highest Q in a resonant LC circuit? What are the requirements to get the highest Q in a resonant LC circuit? Is it possible for Q to go to infinity? And if this can be done, what would it require?
Answer: For any given inductance, the highest “Q” in an LC resonant circuit is obtained when the resistance of the inductor is minimized. Capacitance losses (dissipation) are assumed to be zero or negligible. “Q” is basically the ratio of power stored per cycle divided by the power lost per cycle in a resonant circuit. For LC circuits, the “Q” is given by 2*pi*f*L/R, where f is the resonant frequency in hertz, L is the inductance in Henrie's, and R is the inductor wire resistance in ohms. This implies that an infinite “Q” could be obtained by winding the inductor with superconducting (zero resistance) wire. Thus, no power would be lost in the inductor. Indeed, this would boost the “Q” considerably, but there would be losses in the capacitance dielectric that would then become predominant. Perhaps a vacuum-insulated capacitor, immersed in liquid nitrogen along with the resonating superconducting inductor, would yield the largest “Q”. But “Q” still wouldn’t be infinite: the darned thing would radiate some electromagnetic energy!
How To Prove P*Q Divides A If P And Q Are Different Primes And A Is An Integer?
From Mathematics Forum:How to prove p*q divides a if p and q are different primes and a is an integer? If both p and q are different primes dividing the integer a, then p*q divides a. I cannot figure out how to get started on this proof.
Answer: Can you get each of p divides a and q divides a? If so , then write a = NP, (p divides a). Since you have q divides a then you have q divides NP because a=pn. Now q divides pn but q does not divide p since p and q are different primes. Therefore q must divide n, so write n = QM ( m is an integer). Combine this with a = NP to get a = p(qm) = (pq)m and you have PDQ divides a.
My Motorola Q Phone Has Been Locked And I Forgot The Password . How To Unlock It ?
From Cell Phones & Plans Forum:My Motorola Q phone has been locked and I forgot the password . How to unlock it ? I have Motorola Q mobile phone . I set password and the I forgot the Password . Please tell me how to unlock , Reset , or Remove my password now . If any software is needed for this then please tell me its link or from where I could get it .
Answer: Well, if you forget the password of a Windows Mobile device, the way to remove the password is to do a hard reset. The main drawback of this is that it erases everything and puts the phone back to factory settings. All installed apps and personal data will be gone. If you can stand to lose everything do this: 1. Be sure to have full charge on your battery 2. Hopefully you have backed up all data on your PC. 3. Power off the Motorola Q 4. Power on the Motorola Q while pressing and holding center button and power button. 5. Keep holding until you get a "Master Reset?" screen. 6. Click the left soft key for "Yes" and the phone will wipe and reload the OS from ROM BE SURE NOT TO REMOVE THE BATTERY WHEN YOU DO THIS or you may brick your phone.

How Do You Solve For Q By Taking Derivative?
From Homework Help Forum:How do you solve for Q by taking derivative? 170000/q + 90 + .06q I know you have to take the derivative and set it to 0. But what's getting me is the fraction 170000/q. Please help me out! Thanks!
Answer: so looks like you want to find the critical values for q 170000 / q can be written as 170000q^(-1) and its derivative is -170000q^(-2) which is then written as -170000/q² so d/dq [170000/q + 90 + .06q] = -170000/q² + 0.06 setting d/dq to zero: -170000/q² + 0.06 = 0 170000/q² = 0.06 170000 = 0.06q² q = ± √(170000 / 0.06) ... [approx ±1683.25]
What Is The Q-Factor Of A Laser Cavity? What Is The Energy Stored In It?
From Physics Forum:What is the Q-Factor of a laser cavity? What is the energy stored in it? I've got the definition of Q-factor in a laser cavity as Q=2 x PI x energy stored in cavity / energy loss per cycle. How do I find the energy stored in the cavity? Basically, I've got the question: "The output in a gas laser with a cavity length of M transmits 0.5% of the incident light at a wavelength of NM. Ignoring other losses in the system, calculate the Q-factor of the cavity and the cavity lifetime." (I've also got the cavity lifetime to be, Q= freq x cavity lifetime, for the last bit of the question.) Thanks.
Answer: The .5% is the energy loss per cycle of the *incident* light. That means 95% is reflected. So the loss per cycle is 0.005 times 1/(1+.95) of the total energy in the cavity (since the latter includes both incident and reflected), or 0.00256. According to your definition, then, Q is 2 pi times the inverse of this.
They Say That Using Q-Tips In Your Ears Is Not A Good Idea. How Come? What Should I Use, Instead? ?
From Other - General Health Care Forum:They say that using q-tips in your ears is not a good idea. How come? What should I use, instead? ? I've heard that, instead of using q-tips for your ears, it would be a much better idea to use a liquid ear wax remover, instead. What do you think about this? What are the benefits of using a liquid ear wax remover and the negative effects of using q-tips? Any ideas or suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks.
Answer: With a q tip or any other object , you run the very real risk of puncturing your ear drum, or pushing the wax down into the inner ear and causing damage to the timpani membrane. The liquid wax removers gently get the wax out and do not harm the fragile inner ear.
How To Delete My Q & A For Remaining Partly Hidden From Others?
From Yahoo! Answers Forum:How to delete my Q & A for remaining partly hidden from others? How am I supposed to delete my Q & A for remaining partly hidden from others? I wish people read my Q & A s, but I wish to hide some of them. What am I supposed to do? Help please...? And 10 points to the best answer .. who solves this.... Thanks.
Answer: There is no solution. You can either (a) hide ALL your q&a (from normal users) or (b) NOT hide all your q&a. You can have fans & contacts (who can see your hidden q&a) or NOT have fans & contacts, so if you hide your q&a, nobody can see them. Finally, you can only delete OPEN questions or answers to open questions. Deleting your OPEN questions will remove them (only you can see the 'grey question' that stays behind in your list), but deleting your answers to open questions will make you lose your points. And you can't delete anything that is in voting or resolved.
How Do I Calculate The Total Potential Energy Of A Sphere With Charge Q?
From Physics Forum:How do I calculate the total potential energy of a sphere with charge Q? A sphere of radius a carries and electric charge Q. The charge I uniformly distributed throughout the volume of the sphere. Calculate the total potential energy of the sphere. I am trying to use the Potential energy equation for the integration over all space of the e-field squared. I get stuck finding the e-field on the inside.
Answer: The E-field inside, a distance "r" from the origin is the point charge formula, where "q" is only the charge within the volume of radius "r". You can show this from Gauss' Law. E(in) = kq/r^2 Which to integrate you want to write in terms of the constant density "D"; E(in) = (4/3)(pi)kDr , This part of the energy is integrated over the volume of the sphere. Then you add to that the field energy outside, which again is the point charge formula, but "q" is now the total charge; E(out) = kQ/r^2 Which in terms of the density is; E(out) = (4/3)(pi)kDR^3/r^2 , this part of the energy is integrated, over the volume from r=R to infinity.
What'S The Difference Between The Q And The Traveler In Star Trek Tng?
From Other - Television Forum:What's the difference between the Q and the Traveler in Star Trek TNG? Both super intelligent beings with mastery over space and time... so is the Traveler one of the Q or what? I'm sure the writers didn't just forget about the Q when they wrote in the Traveler.
Answer: Woodrow, the Traveller wasn't a Q. His species simply had an ability to manipulate space and time. Q is different, though he has the same powers, he seems to have a greater mastery over it. Rolanda, the person you're thinking of is Kevin Abridge of whom had Q-like powers, but was not a Q. Other beings that fall into this category are Treeline (TOS), Amanda Rogers (TNG), the Iranians (TOS), the Me trons (TOS), and a plethora of other species and races.
