How Long Would It Take Travesty To Refund My Plane Ticket?
From Air Travel Forum:How long would it take Travesty to refund my plane ticket? I used Travesty to book my flight from London to New York. I was meant to be flying out Th Nov. Today I cancelled my trip due to personal reasons. Anyway , I bought the "insurance" package when I bought the ticket that allows me to get a full refund. today I called them and they said refund process takes 2 to 4 weeks . but one of my friends told me it can take forever . is that true ?
Answer: Did Travesty actually tell you that you would be refunded? Normally you only get a credit for a future flight with the airline. If the ticket is truly going to be refunded, it will take somewhere between 2-4 weeks, and "forever".
Can Anyone Find A Link To The Travesty Commercial Where The Jackhammer Keeps Interrupting The Guy?
From Other - Television Forum:Can anyone find a link to the Travesty commercial where the jackhammer keeps interrupting the guy? It's driving me nuts because I can find lots of other Travesty commercials, but that one appears to have been pulled off the web. It's my favorite one. Best answer to the first working link.
Answer: Try this - the name of the commercial is Interruption http://ilovemerri.multiply.com/video/item/364/Travelocity_Travel_Wishes_-_Interruption
Are Expedite And Travesty Reliable For International Travel?
From Other - Europe Forum:Are Expedite and Travesty reliable for international travel? I am planning a trip to Europe and it is going to be quite a financial commitment for me--especially since I want to stay in really nice hotels. Has anyone booked 5-star European travel on Expedite or Travelocity? Were your reservations honored? Were the rooms what you expected? I have booked thought both services in the US but not in Europe. I would appreciate any feedback about your experiences. Thank you.
Answer: If you really want to book quality, book directly. All you're doing booking through Expedite or Travesty is adding a middleman. That being said, if you must go with one, go with Travesty. Expedite has quite a bad reputation among frequent travelers.
Why Is There A Big Price Different On Travesty And Expedia?
From Packing & Preparation Forum:Why is there a big price different on travesty and expedia? I am using a travel site for the first time and wondering why on a certain flight+hotel combo the prices are way different on travesty and expedite. Expedite for example, was $2000 and travesty was $1600 for the same flight and hotel. Are these good sites to use or are there problems with them? THanks!
Answer: All companies such as Expedite and travesty buy flights and hotels at the best price they can get. They then add a bit of profit and try to sell them. If they don't sell them, they will sometimes discount to attract business. Search a wide range of sites, or use a price comparison site. I always find that buying in Europe is cheaper than buying on a US site. I use Expedite.co.uk and it is always cheaper than Expedite.com.
Anyone Ever Have To Cancel A Trip Through Travelocity?
From Other - Destinations Forum:Anyone ever have to cancel a trip through Travelocity? We booked a trip to Walt Disney World through Travesty a few months ago. My wife fell over the weekend and has to have rota tor cuff surgery and we will be unable to go. We did purchase the trip cancellation insurance but know nothing of how to go about using it. Has anyone had experience in cancelling a trip through Travesty or another "budget" travel source? We're in for roughly $2500 and there is no way she can go. Any stories, suggestions, advice? Thanks.
Answer: Call the insurance company directly and they will help you begin a claim. That is exactly what trip insurance is for. There should be a "contact us" type link on the travesty.com website.
Is Travesty A Legal Agency? Are They Authorized To Process Visa Application?
From Immigration Forum:is travesty a legal agency?are they authorized to process visa application? I was sent an employment contract here in Th Philippines but the so called employer suggested that travesty handles the processing and asked me for a fee of 500 euro?since its the travel agency that will be handling the processing of the papers,is this the right procedures?
Answer: Every single unsolicited job offer you receive over the web for a UK company is a fake job scam. It is just not legally possible for a UK company to offer a non EA national a job without an extensive recruitment and interview process. You have been asked to contact Travesty to process your visa. This is where the scam makes money. Travelocity are a genuine company but you will have been given fake contact details. Travel agencies cannot process visas. The ONLY way UK visas are ever issued is in the country of the applicant from a visa application centre. The UK employer would issue you with a Certificate of Sponsorship which you take to the visa application centre with your documents (bank statements, education and qualifications certificates, etc) and a fee of £270 which you pay direct to them. There you will be photographed and finger printed as part of the process. Visas are never processed in the UK and never by third parties, either lawyers or agencies. Your only cost would be the visa cost. All other costs are handled by the employer. Nobody can guarantee you a visa and nobody can apply on your behalf. You are never directed to a specific individual. You will be asked to pay for your visa by Western Union. No legitimate organisation in the UK would ask you to send money by Western Union - EVER! They all have bank accounts, so why would they need to use WU? You may as well burn your money as it is untraceable and irretrievable. Have nothing more to do with these people and beware of any future approaches by email, they are always a scam.
Is There A Site Other Than Travesty For Last Minute Vacation Packages With Two Different Departure Cities?
From Other - Destinations Forum:Is there a site other than Travesty for last minute vacation packages with two different departure cities? I have a friend in another city and we like to take spur of the moment vacation packages. Travesty offers last minute packages that way. However, in recent months they have taken to bait and switch. They post a price per passenger and when you go to book you get messages that the flight is no longer available at that price or the room is no longer available at that price and they post a surcharge to what they advertised.

From Cancun Forum:Has anyone had a bad experience on an all inclusive trip to Cancun involving Travelocity? Did you resolve? Honeymoon trip. Taken to the wrong hotel and told that they must stay here. Would not take the couple to the correct hotel. Had checked with hotel X before trip to make sure everything was OK. Also side trip was messed up. It has been almost 6 months and I cannot get any resolution on this trip. Travesty keeps saying they will get back to me. Help! How Many People Have Been Ripped Off By Travelocity?
From Air Travel Forum:How many people have been ripped off by Travelocity? If you buy a flight from Travesty, they will take your money, plus a credit card handling fee before it is confirmed. If the flight is subsequently unavailable, you get the fare back but not the credit card fee.
Answer: I worked for an airline and I've seen this happen many times. This is why it is always safer to book with the airlines. I always find better deals directly with the airlines. These travel sites charge ridiculous fee's, offer crazy schedules and even sell the old schedules for a month after the airlines have changed them AND they were advised. There is no recourse with the airlines when there is a problem from these sites. AND contrary to what the other poster said...it is NOT the airline. Airlines want you to book with them, and by booking travel through another avenue that is the choice you, the passenger make. I have always found better deals with the airlines. You have to do your research, know what airlines service what airports. Some discount carriers like Southwest or Jet Blue do not use these travel sites because they feel their fares are cheap enough. Oddly enough, I have found better deals with the major carriers in most situations. This is a prime example of why you should READ ALL OF THE FARE RULES before opting to purchase on any travel website. The ones I DO NOT recommend are the bulk consolidator sites like Price line, Cheap Tickets, Hot wire, Lowest fare...any of the auction websites....anything that shows you price before your choices. These will lock you into your purchase and you can not for any reason make changes and the airlines will not touch these tickets. Orbits is owned by the airlines, start there. See who has the better deal then go to their website. You will save money by booking with the airline because even Orbits marks the fares up slightly for their booking fees. Another tip is to to go the airports website that you are flying out of and see what airlines service that airport. If a low cost carrier like Jet Blue or Southwest is one, go directly to their websites to shop for prices. If you choose to use a travel agent, find out their fee's before agreeing to any package or fares. Some agencies have a high mark up and always ask for a written breakdown of prices. See what the airfare is from the airline before the agency adds their fees. Always use a reputable agency. Even big names are headaches. Carlson Wagon lit was the worst agency that I saw amongst passengers who's company used them for corporate travel. They would have a reservation, but the ticket was not paid for when they checked in and many times these passengers missed their flights. Im sorry you experienced this, but its more common than you'd believe.
