Does anyone know if the v smile is a good cheap way to learn a language? My daughter (4) just got the v smile, and I have been trying to learn a new language. The Gum nit (spelt wrong on purpose lol) said I got a 77 on the dlat(Defense language aptitude test). Anyone who knows what aether of these systems are please let me know if you would recommend doing it this way or not. To poor for the Rosetta Stone any ways. Plus does anyone know any good games for a 4 year old girl on that system?

My kid got that last year shortly after her RD birthday and mastered it with a large library of games before her Th birthday rolled around. It was a challenge at first and she needed some help from mommy but she was persist ant with it and is quite good now.

Answer: I can tell you *don't* buy the Fisher Price Smart Cycle. My 4 year old was so bored with that really quick (however I guess it did teach him to pedal). Like I mentioned in my other question, the Computer Cool School has been fun and educational, but honestly I'm not seeing those near as often as I used to. Not sure if they are still making them or if games are hard to find or not. My 4 year old's very favorite toy is his ride on Lightning McQueen. He loves that thing and rides it every time we play out side, that's been the biggest hit for a gift ever. Not sure if that's something in the price range you were looking for or not though - and it's not very educational, Lil, but it's FUN! Or what about a bike? Does he have one with training wheels yet? I dunno, as far as other gift ideas. . .if your 4 year old is anything like mine a cardboard box makes him happy. He's never met a toy he doesn't like. :-)

Answer: I got my own almost 3 year old daughter a Nintendo D'S and she amazes me how she manages every single bit of it. She loves playing games on it as well. I would personally recommend it.

Answer: Personally, I wouldn't recommend getting a 4 year old one but that's my view. If you did get her one though, I would recommend a Nintendo D'S. These are generally aimed at younger gamers and have more suitable games, whereas the PPS is aimed at older gamers13+ , and has very little games for younger gamers, whereas the D'S has loads.
