What Is The Different Between The Box 360 And The Box 360 Arcade?

From Box Forum:

What is the different between the Box 360 and the Box 360 arcade? What is the different between the Box 360 and the Box 360 arcade? Is there different features or what? There is Box 360 Pro? Is that good? And is refurbished good?

Answer: 1) Box 360 is a new generation console that differs from the old black cube-like 'xbox'. 2) Box has had many SK Us or Stock-Keeping-Unit.. which has basically different Box's with variations in their hardware... It's generally results from the arrival of the chip sets that is built in. Newer chip sets get smaller and run cooler. It can also done to create an different packages according to affordable prices. Example, when you go to the store you can choose a package according to how much you can afford to pay.. it could be an Box with GB hard drive, Box with GB DD, Box with GB and a headphone and two controllers.. or so on. In a way you could consider the new Box Slim as a newer SKY too. But SK Us are important because you not only you can go choose which you can afford.. but also considers the chip set and go with the better one. The tricky part is that SK Us are only presented in terms of differing attachments or accessories. It won't tell you on the box which chip set in inside the box. 3) There were Pro, Core and Arcade version. Then Pro and Core got discontinued. Arcade got updated with a chip set called Jasper, which is smaller, consumes less power, and runs little cooler, and most importantly has almost resolved the infamous red ring of death issue or hardware failure from overheating. Then came Elite which is basically an Arcade with same Jasper chip set, and bigger much hard drive, and better bundled accessories. 4) Do not buy Pro and Core or (and old Arcade version).. they might be cheaper.. but they are not only discontinued, but also prone to red ring of deaths or hardware failure. 5) So now there is updated Arcade and Elite (with Jasper Chipset) and the New Box Slim (with Valhalla chip set, which runs even cooler). 6) With arrival of new Box Slim, Arcade and Elite prices have gone down. I would recommend New Box Slim because it comes with GB and built in hard drive. runs quieter and cooler. and there are some good accessory bundle offers. plus it is Kinect-ready. And of'course it looks amazing with shiny black piano finish. 7) However, if you cannot afford Box Slim, go for Arcade or Elite. Make sure they have jasper chip set in it. They generally come with a three year warranty. insist on it. go to different stores. or if you could pay few bucks are get a three year warranty go for it. But mostly with Jasper box's you will be safe.. but get the warranty anyways. SO HOW DO YOU TELL A JASPER CHIPSET? Certainly not from the box and outward appearance. You can take your seller's word for it or Take a sneak peak at the bottom of the Power Brick inside the box. or the the backside of the Box itself. it should read Output DC =150W 12V---12.1A 8) I would recommend Elite, because with Arcade you won't get a hard drive, which you will eventually have t buy separately anyways. And New box Slim because it has built in wife adapter, which in case of both Elite or Arcade.. you'll have to buy is separately for US$99 if you want to access Box Live service... So get if can't afford Slim, then get the Box Elite with jasper chip set. Prices have gone down. You'll get bundled offers.. might come with headphones, and so on.. OTHER TIPS BOX OWNERS CAN USE: I recommend you always install the games you will play most onto the hard drive; not only the box runs quieter, but you will also increase the life of your disc by preventing the scratches as the game will run from the DD. One important point is not to move the box or dangle it in the air when the disc is spinning inside. There is a sticker on the disc tray 'Do not move when disc n tray'. But some stupid people can't read the sticker in front of their eyes and dangle the box in the air, which will damage the disc. I don't see any reason why would anyone be dumb enough do that, unless they're dumb ha ha. Also keep the box horizontal as... the vertical in the advertisements is vertical mainly for aesthetic reasons..otherwise Microsoft recommends it horizontal. It avoids being knocked down by mistake by kids or anyone.. And reduces the chances of disk scratches cause if you think about it.. horizontal way is natural way to keep it. Plus I there is a ventilation on the ride side, which can get faced down and blocked when you stand it vertically. which I imagine would block ventilation and cause heat increase and Rod. So I'd recommend keeping it in a clutter-free environment. In a free space, not in a cabinet where ventilation is less. And on a hard surface. As long as you take care of it, you'll be a happy gamer;)

What would be the best box 360 magazine to subscribe to? I want to subscribe to an box 360 magazine, however I don't know which would be the one which provides best value for money. Any ideas and preferences?

Answer: I think the best game magazine is Game Informer. Even though it is not exclusive to Box 360, it gives great coverage on all gaming and, primarily, the 360 and P'S. They also inject a lot of humor into their articles. I often value their game ratings more than any other.

What'S The Difference Between The Box 360 Models?

From Box Forum:

What's the difference between the Box 360 models? I really want an Box 360. I've been looking at them in stores and on line, but I don't understand the differences in the Box Pro, and the Elite. Is the Elite really worth the bigger price? Or should I stick to the Pro? Or should I just down grade to the Arcade. Will someone tell me the differences between the three, and which one you think is the best buy? Alright I understand the differences, now tell me which one you think is the best buy.

Answer: core= the worst box 360 system stay well away from that one it has no hard drive and is likely to crash. this one is all white with chrome trim arcade= is the same as the the core but with more arcade games. stay away from this one as well. likely to crash! pro/premium=a better console. comes with a gig HUD hard drive, compatible with box live, comes with some arcade games trials(you have to buy Microsoft points to unlock full version)and some game demos. this one is all white with chrome trim. comes with 1 white, wireless control er and a headset, cables to cone ct to the TV, cables to plug into the outlet so you can play. price: $349.99. (recommended) elite= this one comes with a gig HUD hard drive. same thing as the pro/premium but I have heard its not very compatible with box live so if you are just a gamer and not wanting to go on box live and are wanting to buy and play alto of games than this is for you. this is all black with green trim. comes with 1 black wireless controller and a headset, cables to cone ct to the TV, cables to plug into to the outlet so you can play. price: $449.99 halo 3 limited edition(i have this one)= comes with gig HUD hard drive, a code for special gamer pictures and wallpaper, is compatible with live, comes with like 18 arcade and game demos(you can purchase more with Microsoft points) some videos(not movies just game previews). this one is Spartan green with gold trim and has halo 3 designs on the sides and faceplate.comes with a spartan green controller and headset, cables to cone ct to the TV, cables to plug into the outlet so you can play. price: $349.99. (recommened if you can find it still) i would recommend the box 360 pro/premium and hate box 360 halo 3 special edition. they are very good systems. just make sure that you keep it in a location where there is good air flow, minimal dust, and dint play it for 8 hours or more straight. then you will just overheat it and have to send it in. sorrry I know its long.
